BTS: WHAT A HINT OF ORANGE, AQUA AND WHITE CAN DO

As I have been mentioning over the past couple of weeks, I had been helping some lovely friends prepare for their engagement party! It was lots of fun and was so excited to help them make it into the special night that they wanted it to be. It had a summer nights theme and to our surprise the weather held up and really made the theme come to life, as well as all the beautiful decorations my lovely friend put together herself and all my little designed elements that assisted to bring the theme together. It was such a success and the way they set it out, zoned the space and organised everything turned out fabulously! It looked great and it was lots of fun! To top it off, they even made their own DIY BAR!!! It is absolutely awesome, such a great job and it was a hit. Well done on getting it all together, so happy I could help you make your vision come to life, it looked amazing and worked really well.

The colour palette was an elegant mix of soft colours to really bring the vibe of Summer into the back garden as well as make it feel classy and fun at the same time. By using such a colour combo we brought a little of the Greek Islands vs Ivy Pool into the backyard! Orange, Aqua and White seem like an odd combination but mixed together softly and in the right way really made for a winning palette. Little touches and details of soft pinks in the flowers and white also added that extra softness and layered the cocktail tables. Lots of little jam jars, milk jars with string and tags as well as a fresh looking cocktail menu tied everything together nicely.

It also is a great example of how you can really utilise your outdoor space and bring it to life for any particular event you may have over the festive season.

Hope you enjoy your sneak peak and a look into the DIY behind the bar as well as the party!

BEHIND THE SCENES: HIGH TEA

A couple of months ago I shared with you some progress shots of a design I was working on for my "Paper Art" side of JDZ Designs. Now I can reveal it was for a lovely client who is getting married next year. She is having a very lovely themed "high tea" kitchen tea and came to me for inspiration on creating a unique and elegant design that would embody the theme as well as be a little unique. So we ventured together in creating some pretty awesome tea bag inspired invitations that I have to say I am really proud of. I designed and made them all by hand and cannot wait to deliver her package very soon!

Today I spent majority of the afternoon setting up a shoot that showcased the invitations in a high tea vintage setting, which was also super exciting and lots of fun to do. Here is the big reveal and a behind the scenes look at today's shoot.

All images are sourced and supplied by JDZ herself, the design is copyrighted- "Paper Art" by JDZ.
If you ever want to use these pictures for inspiration, all I request is that you kindly ask me first.

If you have any questions or merely want to comment on them please do so as well as emailing me at info@jdzdesigns.com.au

Have a great afternoon,

FEATURE FRIDAY - PAPER ART

Thank god it is Friday!! And thank god Feature Friday is back and today I am talking all about myself. Yes, you read correctly, me, the person that really does not love to self promote ( even though it is essential ) will be doing it in today's post. It is actually about the other part of JDZ Designs, which is the stationary and event side of things.

I think it comes with the territory that I love all things stationary, textiles and paper related. It all goes hand in hand and I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to explore my abilities with paper designs for weddings, birthdays, kitchen teas and christenings.

The invite, just like a brand is always the first step to setting the tone and expectation for your event. That does not mean it has to be over the top, because keeping designs understated can always be good too but and invitation or any type of related graphic representation really shows off or tells a story related to a event. It is the way you set your invitation up that can show part of your personality as well as the theme for the event. So to me stationary and invitations are just like art works, they tell you about itself, what to expect and have a distinctive story or look. It is because of these beliefs that I developed the custom made invitation design service that is Paper Art.

Currently I am working on a custom made invitation for a special event next year. I cannot reveal too much because it is a little bit of a secret, but it is very cool!

Have a look below at some of the invitations and other graphic work I have designed on over the last year.

Hope you all have a very lovely weekend!!

JDZ x
